Acting in the investigation on Youth and Adult Education (YAE) not only encompasses the reflections on a different age range of students, but also involves, among other elements, the thinking of and acting with a group with cultural specificities. Some Brazilian school curricula targeted to Science teaching and learning in YAE have been increasingly focusing on cultural heterogeneity, as a result of greater knowledge of the subject of learning. In the present paper, we have exposed results of a qualitative investigation, which considered as instruments bibliographical and documental research, in regards to how cultural heterogeneity is addressed in the national (Brazil), estate (Paraná/Brazil) and municipal (Cascavel/Paraná/Brazil) curriculum guidelines, especially regarding the directions for the subject of Science. The guiding documents of YAE, as feedbacks, resolutions, curriculum proposals and curriculum guidelines, were studied having as a main methodological approach the Analysis of Content. The aim is to contribute to the implementation of policies and practices towards an education based on respect for the student's culture and immersion in the scientific culture.
