Learning and Good Practices for Higher Education Institution Management
Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the different learning from experience of university managers who lead a higher institution, after several years of tenure. The project responds to a methodology proposed qualitative research approach. From this point of qualitative and interpretative character, the research design opts for case studies through the development of semi-structured interviews with selected members of the various organizational units involved their conformity with informant’s profile defined in advance by the research team. The data were processed by computer MAXQDA, which allows access to data in a structured way. Here we present the contributions of eighteen managers from the University of Las Palmas. They emerged learning derived from executive management. Learning the results derived from the management that involve the development of good practices through a set of general personal and professional factors emerged.
