Teachers Evaluation: A Contribution to the Reconstruction of

Over the last decade, the quality of education as well as the processes related with that, have been topics particularly appreciated in different educational systems around the world, included Chile, who has designed its educational policy according to this approach since its Educational Reform.

Considering this, and according to a systemic perspective, the quality of management teacher is an area highly sensitive by the educational sphere, on the basis of narrow relationship between quality of teachers and the efforts to improve the educational process. Likewise is recognized that the evaluation of teachers is a critical variable to improve the quality in the education. Hence in our view, schools and teachers should know of them to try to understand its self dynamics.

Regarding to preceding statement, the aims of this article are to describe the meaning, use and relevance of the teacher s evaluation, on the basis of reporting the outcomes of an evaluative study implemented in a primary school and secondary school of the Los Lagos Region-Chile. Besides of different educational level, the schools included in this study have dissimilar administrative regimes.

Nevertheless their different educational levels and administrative regimes, the conclusions of the study allow to report similar situations between them. Therefore were identified a set of weaknesses whose correction would allow to improve the quality of the management schools.
