The purpose of this article is to, in part, to describe the diagnosis process of the evaluation of teaching process performance developed for the mayors of the Pontificia Univercidad Católica of Valparaiso, Chile; and to highlight the importance of networking the teaching evaluation to the forming processes in which teacher are active participants. This diagnosis was meant to gather information on the different evaluation systems currently accepted for each mayor, analyzing their weaknesses and strengths considering the values given to the evaluation of the teaching by staff and students alike. This diagnosis process con be thought of as positive for all the interest shown by the participants, agreements could me made aver certain criteria that work as the foundation for a new teaching evaluation system, and it promoted a self-evaluation of the teaching process, and a reflection in which the professors decided on which types of changes or improvements are needed in their daily jobs.
