Implementation of a Distance Education System using the Internet |

.Abstract | ||||
The introduction of technology in the teaching of higher education systems has registered a high growth, specifically in the field of teaching mediated by the Internet. Basic and secundary education systems are still on an embrionary stage. The strategic vision of the technology, the formation of human capital, taking into account the specific characteristics of online training, organizing the acceptance of online teaching and its assessment practices, are essential factors for the effective implementation of these new learning environments. In this research, used the case study of recurrent education of the 2nd and 3rd cycles and secondary education, mediated by the Internet, as an approach to the subject of the implications of the introduction of technology, associated with the implementation of a system of online distance education, on the model of learning. The case analysis is a pioneer in Portugal, where the EB 3/s Vitorino Nemésio, from the third Island, Azores, was the first Portuguese school with recurrent education mediated, constituting, therefore, an ideal scenario to understand the mode of implementation of a system with these characteristics and identify the implications in the Organization of the courses and teaching and learning models. |
