  Abstract      
     
 

The evolution of the education of deaf people in Chile, has gone through various stages and each has impacted the quality of life of deaf people. This study aims to review these processes and relieve the reflection on the current situation of the deaf population in Chile from the educational, linguistic and social. The findings of the study identifies the challenges in integrating the deaf and exposes the great advances in quality of life and civil rights that have occurred over the past 15 years.
