Abstract | ||||||
This article analyzes how the change of mind proposed by the Independent Living philosophy, swifting from sick or damaged people to people with rights that are being discriminated, leads to these to self-organize into Centers for Independent Living (CILs). At these CILs the required processes of empowerment and peer support are facilitated. Also, from the CIL the figure of the Personal Assistant is promoted. Personal Assistants are the human supports basic for equal opportunities. |
