The text shows the main results of the self-evaluation process of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) for the three year period 2004-2006, with special emphasis on the usage of this data for strategic planning and institutional decision making (management). For this purpose management action made on UFC, as a response to the internal demands identified during the self evaluation process are carefully detailed. Among these actions we can find: the Special Aid for Graduation Program, Revitalizing of Monitoring Program, Expansion of Tutorial Education Programs (PET), Special Program for Library Catalog Update, Program for Increasing Student Aid, Program for Welcoming New Professors and Administrative-technicians, Digitalization of the evaluation process of students, Program for Recovery and expansion of the Physical infrastructure, Action taken to Consolidate Post-Graduate (Studies), Action directed to creating a link between Graduate and Post-Graduates (Studies).
