Abstract | |||||||
The Latin-American countries have ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2008), just as the Inter-American Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (2001) and implemented their principles legally. This article summarizes the observations and recommendations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child in what refers to the education of persons with disabilities. Important advances can be observed in lawmaking’s that contrast with the discrimination which still exists in many countries. |
