Abstract | ||||||
The diverse manifestations of violence within social groups, call for a renewed education system, with effective mechanisms to institutionalize a culture of democratic life and to forge adequate and relevant learning for responsible citizenship. Experience suggests a new model for public schools with a focus on human rights, where it is necessary to rethink the meaning of education and to renew the traditional styles of educational management, both pedagogical and institutional. This model emphasizes the structural causes that prevent building effective educational environments for learning and living together: how to learn and how to live together in school. |
